Hi OH has Mazda CX-5 - reg June 15, 87,000KM on clock and the Turbo has gone.

Garage - not the one she bought it in, but main dealer in the area, has said Mazda 'may do something for her' as it is just out of the 3 year, but under the 100K warranty.

Anyone have any advice on how to approach this? Do manufacturers do goodwill gestures?

Definitely worth asking the question, if it has a full Mazda service history and all services were done on time.

Don't expect a quick answer as the wheels of Mazda turn very, very slowly for this sort of thing.

If main dealer in the area said Mazda 'may do something for her' then she should get details from them on next steps, or who to contact.
Yes, manufacturers do good-will stuff, but that is not to say it always happens.

Just spoke to her, she dropped it to them earlier. They say they'll report it to Mazda, usually takes them 2 days to come back on something like this, then 2 days to get part, 8 hours to replace.

Being the pessimist/realist that I am, I'm expecting no help from Mazda, so can only be pleasantly surprised.. :o

Mazda seems to have gone to pot....

My turbo is still original at 180k miles.

Great that you're getting sorted. I've just been in with my own cx5 and I'm told at 35000km my brake pads need replacing. Fair enough. But I'm told my discs also need replacing. Which I'm really struggling with. How can any car with only 35000 km on it need discs replacing???
