Apartment - Water On/off

Is it possible that the recent water restrictions are still having an impact on my water supply?

I have no issues with the mains supply (i.e. cold tap in kitchen).

The rest of the taps (bathrooms and shower) are either operating completely as normal or else have no water/minimal drip.

The supply is pump driven and it sounds sometimes as if the pump is trying to pump, but there doesn’t seem to be any water. When it is working, it’s completely fine.

I’m on the top floor (of 5) in the block if that makes a difference. Would reduced supply/pressure levels basically mean I’m last in line in the block to get topped up?

Depending on how the mains water is distributed throughout the block, you could be at the end of the supply and its taking too long to refill your water storage tank.
Have you checked the water level in the storage tank, it should be approx 6 inches from the top.
In saying that, I have had to deal with a lot of filling valves clogged up with debris washed into the valve from when pressure was restored. This causes the flow into the tank to be very very slow and can cause issues with water running out.
Otherwise, there could be a problem with the pump itself and it may just need a part replaced.
Check the level in the water tank first.

Thank you. Unfortunately the tank is not really easily accessible and is covered at the top, so not able to see in.

I have noticed that if I flick the pump off/on at the switchboard it can get things going again. But not all the time.

Problem can happen when I come in from work in the evening, so surely the tank would have had plenty of time to fill during the day if that was the issue.

Is that pointing to a pump problem? Anything I can check with all the valves to/from the tank/pump?

It may well be a pump issue, but the water supply needs to be checked as well, especially if the pump stops pumping water while in use.

Irish water are still restricting the water pressure at night in the Dublin area. This could effect how fast or slow your tank fills.

If you have your own pump them I assume you have your own cold water tank above the hot press. Do you hear this filling as you use water in the bathroom
