Curries has 50 euro on the price even without the sale. Why is everything hardware related so expensive in Ireland?

Small market plus few other factors but the amount of people would be the main reason. No big competition so big brands can put any price tag they want, not many people are tech enough to shop online, even in this day and age. Like in Poland for example even the big branded shops cant put to much on sticker price as there is huge market and many different shops local or online.
Simple example is wool. Thanks to my wife I had to dig into shopping for wool, the price difference between rest of Eu and Ireland can go up to few hundreds %....

Because Amazon have competition, and have thousands of them sitting in warehouse they want to shift.

Currys on the other had haven't much competition and can have a few sitting on a shelf waiting for a mug to buy it.

I see. That's a real pity. Anytime I've considered purchasing any sort of hardware or accessories, Dabs/Currys always fail to impress with their offers, both in quantity and price.

More or less I would say the only good thing about the stores is that sometimes You can haggle for a nice discount. A lot of the times even the special offers are over or near online prices.
I only go there to touch and check things which usually I order later online.

I was looking for an Irish store that may replace hardwareversand in terms of price. Then I checked Amazon and was blown away by the difference. As for wool, I know what you're saying, its like gold here.

Currys would have bought it by bulk when it first came out. Then sent a few to each of it's stores. Where it'll sit for a while. A percentage that helps cover store rental, etc, will be tacked on.

Amazon will also buy bulk. But it'll get sold from one central location quickly.

I avoided Irish stores, for the most part. The memory shop in Celbridge was the only Irish store I'd regularly use, and that'd only be as it's close by. Peats or Maplins for the odd part that I needed within a day. Otherwise, online for the past few years.

It depends on what you are looking to buy in there. For example their range of PSU's is not bad, maybe €10 or 20 off online prices but not awful if you need one ASAP. They also have OK prices on some graphics cards.

Thing about SSDs is that even putting aside that retail will always be a lot more expensive, until very recently they were a lot more expensive. Currys prices may not yet reflect the recent big drops.

And you have to factor delivery in too, so if brick and mortars are 10/20 more expensive than online I usually let them away with it.

I doubt retail pay for delivery. If customer can get away with free delivery, so too can retail. Either way, I was building a rig 2 years a go and spent 2.3k for it online, same config woulda cost me 3.5k from Irish stores. Ridiculous.

Referring to amazon's delivery charges which we all pay afaik. Unless it's a parcel motel situation or summat, but even that costs. Any rigs I've put together over the years have seen nearly a tenner in delivery for each component, from amazon.co.uk or amazon.es.

Like my friend at works like to say, Ireland is an Australia of Europe. You can order anything online but when it comes to shipping/delivery costs they are sometimes big chunk of overall price to pay.
I in the end almost always go with Amazon even thou oc.co.uk or scan have better prices, the delivery cost neglects the cheaper price.
