Hi guys my daughter will be doing her LC this year, she's only turning 17 in December , will that be an issue?

She's quite young and I was sort of regretting not letting her do TY.

Any advice from anyone on this?

Why did you stop her doing TY?

Didn't think it was necessary, seemed like a dose year and we just wanted her to finish school that little bit faster as she was very bright, a B/A honours student

And how does she feel her Junior Cert went?

She did very well, mostly B's and 1 or 2 As but she got a C in maths as it's her worst subject

JC results aren't out yet so I presume there has already been a gap between doing the JC and now starting the LC?

Yes, i belive that was called 5th year.

I think what OP meant is she is doing her LC this coming June.(2019)

So she would still have gotten her JC results last year, in 5th year, oppossed to TY

So she'll be 17.5 roughly going to college?

It shouldn't be any issue really, many will be younger.

It will mean that for her first semester she may find her social life somewhat curtailed, in that if her mates are over 18 and going clubbing etc., she won't be able to go with them.

As I said though, many will be in the same boat in First Year or for part of it, and there are plenty of other opportunities for socialising.
