Indesit IWDC 6125 problem

    Hi Folks

I recently bought an Indesit IWDC 6125 washer/dryer. I'm using it for the second time and there is a beeping noise coming from the machine. I've checked the troubleshooting guide in the manual and there is no mention of beeping. Would anyone who has any experience with this machine be able to tell me what it means? The Start/Pause button is solid green, the door locked button is solid read and the only button flashing is the 3 hr wash cycle progress light.

The other issue is that it has been washing for nearly 4 hours now. The cycle duration should only be 125 minutes.

    Thanks.

I had this looked at and I know what the problem is. Not enough water is getting into the machine. The water pressure isn't strong enough. The guy from Indesit said that all new washer/dryers have these self-protection functions i.e. if it isn't getting enough water it won't work. So I don't know what to do. Get rid of the machine and try and get one that works on low pressure? Anyone else who lives in an apartment faced this? I would be grateful for any advice.

    Thanks.

You could try loosening the fill hose from the solenoid valve, remove the thimble like filter and inside this there is a rubber high pressure restrictor, remove this, reassemble and try the machine again .ideally the machine should be connected to mains pressure and this supply will normally be at the sink. All machines will require a minimum pressure to fill, data will be in the handbook

Thanks Red Ace. That sounds like that could be helpful. I don't suppose you would know where I might find instructions on how to do this? Preferably with pictures. I'll Google it myself but just checking in case you know where to find instructions for this straight away.

    Thanks again.

You shouldn't need any pictures just undo the fill hose, you will see the filter, remove this and you will see the rubber washer, remove this with a strong safety pin, pliers or whatever you find handy, once removed reassemble the filter and hose and turn the water back on

Thanks Red Ace, I'll give that a try.
