I looking to build an extension onto side/back of house. I have an engineer friend who do drawings and submit application to LA.
Id like to get an insight of an architect to visit site and propose layout and finishes of extension only.
What approx would I expect to pay.

So they’d essentially be still doing the same job as if applying for planning.
I’m not sure many architects would get involved in this kind of thing and if I was, I’d still expect the same fee as I’d still be doing the research and design only for your mate to transfer it to his cad drawings.

Does your "Engineer friend" have Professional Indemnity insurance?

    Yes.

Sounds like he is all above board so why not let him do the full design?
