So what podcasts have taken your fancy?.

At the moment the podcasts I'm listening to is John Grey ( philosopher ) he is a nice contrast to happy-clappy optimism about the world and human nature.

I don't think I've ever listened to any more than a snippet of a podcast on youtube, just something I never got into

    Guardian Science Weekly

The only podcast I ever really followed was that one called Serial by Sarah Koenig. It was fierce good to be fair.
I randomly listened to a few of Eamon Dunphy's ones. They were good podcasts but.....

There are great in the car on a long journey or even a break from inane radio stations.

Men's Rea... An Irish true crime podcast. The latest two episodes cover the murder of Veronica Guerin. Well worth a listen

This will probably be locked and moved to the podcast forum, like all the other similar threads, even if what'll make it interesting will be getting the AH contingents opinions on podcasts, rather than just the small few who visit that other sub forum. But, anyway, until then -

I've listened and continue to listen to a lot. Here are some of my go tos:

    Second Captains - sport
The Totally Football Show - football
    Truth, Lies, Movies - films
    Filmspotting - films
The Last Picture Show - Films
    Blank Check - films
    Casefile - True Crime
    Slow Burn - political intrigue
Stuff You Should Know - stuff
    Radiolab - documentary
On the media - news analysis
The Atlantic Interview - good quality blah, blah
Talking Politics - Meaty Political Dicussion
Beef and Dairy Network - Bizarre meaty discussion
History of The Cold War - Extremely underrated history podcast
Dan Carlin - The main man in history pods
You must remember this - Tales of Old Hollywood
In Our Time - Learn yourself smart
    Song Exploder - Deconstructing music
The Irish History Podcast - Exactly what it says on the tin.
The Axe Files - Political interviews
Political Worldview - A bit of the long view political talk
Irish Times Worldview - Pretty good current affairs
West Cork - Excellent true crime serial

And there 's loads of others. I always want more. I use podcast Addict to listen. Dead handy app, which allows you to listen at a faster than normal playback speed: I prefer quality AND quantity.

Pet Hates would be anything with the word "improv" in the title, which are usually full of windbag Yanks who are as funny as Cancer. Also hate true crime pods which milk the tragedy and get off on recounting gory details for shameless entertainment.

    I like books.

    Hallucinating over dead trees slices.

For Ted Talks, or should I say the older ones before they let just anyone waffle on, I read the transcripts.
