Hi all, I have an 04 caddy van and i’d Like to soundproof the cab from the back as I find it quite noisy.
I don’t have a fortune to spend on it,so I was wondering if there was a cheap and cheerful way to cut down the noise,eg what could I put between the bulkhead and the ply (which I have)?
    Thanks

You could use some carpet underlay cut to size and fitted then layer of 1/4" ply with a good seal around the edges, that would provide a good amount of sound reduction.
The key is to make sure there are no small gaps in the insulation everything has to fit very tight or sound will leak through.

Thanks, how would I fix the underlay to the bulkhead?or should I fix it to the ply?

You could staple it to the existing bulkhead if its bare ply?

Thanks, should I fix the ply to the bulkhead first and then fit the underlay to the ply?

    Bulkhead>Ply>Underlay>Ply.
