My son is starting DCU this year and is in the lottery for on campus accommodation.
Apparently the chances of getting it without 575 are slim.
We're looking at twin room in Hazelwood because he doesn't want digs and the prices in other student blocks are extortionate .
Any advice, thoughts, experience of Hazelwood would be welcome..
    Thanks

Hey, stayed there last year as a first year i found the apartments grand my room was a single ensuite basic enough
never really had any hassle from the management. be careful if hes driving its 500 for a single carspace there now
Ben dunne gym opposite it and eurospar or aldi 3/4 mins walk. If he is walking to dcu it will take about 30 mins, there is a bus that goes down close to it also

took ages to get the deposit back from them after moving out

Thanks very much for your reply.
No luck with the lottery so he's booked into Hazelwood. Relieved to have somewhere sorted, let's hope it works for him

yeah its pretty much luck, theres 4 people for every 1 bed in dcu, If hes walking/cycling to college each day the walk through shanowen/shanliss is much less hassle than the ballymun rd
