Loud, vibrating sound from main water pipe.

    Hi all,

Could anyone help me with this problem please?

Since last week, the main water pipe has been making a loud, vibrating sound early in the morning and late at night both where it comes into the apartment in the kitchen and again where the water enters the water tank. It seems to be consistent with the water restrictions coming into place at 10pm at night (though this only began just over a week ago).

I live on the third floor of an apartment complex and haven't heard the same sound from any other apartments. The sound is so loud that I'm sure it's heard in the apartments that surround me.

Could anyone shed some light of what might be going on and if it should resolve itself after the water restrictions are lifted? I have contacted Irish Water to see if there was a increase in the intensity of the water restrictions in my area last week but they have yet to get back to me.

My solution for now is to turn the main water supply off before the water restrictions come into effect at night and turn it back on in the morning.

Should I be more concerned about this?

    Thanks!

    Air locks most likely.

Pumps pulling water in a gaps basically.

    Thanks for your reply.

Do you know anyway to clear them or should they sort themselves out when the water restrictions lift?
