New 2017 Opel Insignia facelift owner's forum

    Hi

I did a search and could find a more recent thread on the Opel Insignia so i am going start this one. Also there is a lot of threads about the insignia on boards.ie but are all in different threads which makes it hard to find information.

I recently bought an 182 Insignia elite 1.6 diesel (136hp) 6 speed automatic with all the bells and whistles (the only options i did not get were the HUD (head up display) EGR comfort seats, rear wiper and noise dampening windows. not sure if these can be added on as after factory installs or not) and would like to hear from people have bought the new face lifted Insignia that was launched in August 2017. i would like to know if anyone also has this config (1.6 diesel with 6 speed automatic)

Also i found out that the Irish motorist is getting screwed again. in Ireland you cannot get the 360 degree camera system as mentioned in the owners manual as an option for the insignia but in the UK under the Vauxhall brand you can. This is not Opel's fault

When I was doing my research in to buying the Insignia I found loads of forums and threads with all the scare stories saying not to buy. My previous car a Volvo had to serviced twice overnight which required me to have a spare car. on both occasions they were insignias that i was given and liked the car immediately.

I only have my car 2 weeks and it already has reached 1000 Km and is ready to get its free checkup. i have a few minor build quality issues and would like to hear if anyone else is having any as well.

    1. rattling vibration from drivers area, hard to know if from door or dash
    2. low pickup speed around 40 to 50km/h
    3. brakes very hard - nearly have to stand on them to slow the car down (this maybe that the brakes need bedding in)
    4. hard to find any information from the infiotainment system what map version i have for the navigation system.
    5. Finding destinations on the NAV system is a nightmare. 3 times i looked for places in my own town where I live and it could not find them. However if I use the myOpel app and search for the place on that it finds it and I can then send it to the NAV unit
    5. wing mirrors not folding when using keyless entry or exit. they do fold using the key.
    6. door seals are very bad. wind noise and driving through puddles of water can be heard as if i was outside the car.

Ironically apart from these minor issues and i hope they can be sorted out during the 1000km checkup i love the car.

Looking forward to hearing from your experiences with the recently facelifted insignia

In 2nd? With 136hp in a car of that size I'd imagine 0-60 in around 10 secs?

How do you find the performance otherwise?

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply

I am not sure what gear it is in as it is an automatic. it may be the automatic is shifting up too early and its in the wrong gear causing it to feel like it is laboring

There are 2 versions of the 1.6 diesel one with 100 bhp and the one i have the 136 bhp version

Once it goes above 50 or 60 km/h the performance is there. i am not really concerned about top speed or 0 to to 60 times.

do you press the accelerator fully down when trying to accelerate? In the old mans automatic if you want to accelerate at lower speeds I need to 'floor it' and the gearbox will downshift for better acceleration

I'd call that soft not hard. Usually when people describe brakes as being hard (or harsh) they mean that a slight touch of the pedal severely slows down the vehicle.
