    Hi all ,

Hoping to get some advices , I’m currently working at my job 8 month I got it through an agency and the employer is to give me a permanent contract once one becomes available , in the meantime 3 people have been employed through the employer and not the agency , I have not had a 6 months review and nothing mentioned about me , now I have been approached by another employer with a full time permanent role same salary and same kinda job .

I’m just wondering do I take this new job or should I approach my current job and ask them ?? Or is that being cheeky ?

    Any advises welcome thanks

How solid is the approach? If it was me I'd mention nothing to current employer unless I was offered the other role with contract to back it up. Depends which job you want most, if it was me I would go for the other role and see what it offers, then if you want to stay in your current role with better salary you should mention to them that you have been offered a better deal and see if they can match or better it.

If you're happy in your current role, let the employer know that you would like to stay but have been offered the security of a permanent role elsewhere and can they offer the same. If they say no you have a decision to make. It's certainly not cheeky.

Edit: Be sure you have a solid offer from the other company. I.e a contract to sign.

It’s a full time contract and they ya exit ready to go and asking me a start date , I just didn’t know what way to approach current job , didn’t want to feel like I’m bribing them to stay or anything , both same salary just I would have security of full time job if I move

Don't mention the other job, there's nothing wrong in asking what's happening if you don't like the answer then you know what to do.

I would have a chat with your manager. I agree you don't need to mention the other job, but you can talk about your concerns and about your future in the company.

You're not bribing them. You are being up front and honest and giving them the opportunity to offer you something (if it's there to offer) before you go elsewhere. I'd hope they would appreciate your honesty.
