    Hey,

Just looking for opinions on this.

Below is not a question on the Job sim its just an example (as people would of saw already in stage 1), I hope it doesn't break rules. I'm just looking for opinions.

If your a Garda and you witness someone been assaulted while your currently responding to another incident. Should you stop and help the person or just continue to the original call? Even if that person seems badly hurt.

It depends what the incident you are responding to is id say. The main priority Here in my opinion is to protect life.

I'd say an immediate threat to life trumps the call, if it's something like you're on your way to take a statement. You can always continue on your way. But I'd be on the radio pretty sharpish.

If you're on something like a surveillance operation my inclination would be to radio it in but not leave my post.

I agree with both of you, it's what I thought. If someone is badly injured and you drive by without helping, the injured person could potentially die. Also, if you radio call for someone to help that person, you don't know how long it will take for the help to show up either.

If its surveillance I reckon best option is to keep your cover and report to your team the information.

Preservation of life takes precedence. This is a realistic enough situation and where Garda judgement comes into play. If at all possible with modern communications you could radio in the less serious matter. As regards a surveillance situation the same applies as long as you do not jeopardise your mission. However as stated preservation of life trumps all and if you have to break off surveillance to do so it has to be done
