    Hi,

We are currently renovating our house and are getting a polished concrete floor. Original plan was to polish existing concrete but this went out the window as it was a patchwork of different mixes. We were told that a new slab wouldn't cost "too much".

This was what we were quoted for 28m2:

    • Break and remove existing concrete slab
    • Install new 150mm thick concrete floor, 150mm Kingpan insulation
    • Install Radon sump €3860 exVAT

The only thing I can find prices on is the insulation (Kooltherm K3) which would work out at €715 ex vat.

Is ~€2100ex VAT a bit pricey for breaking up existing slab and pouring a new one? (nothing special with slab just some small aggregate)

Does the material have to be wheelbarrowed at all?

Shouldn't have to wheelbarrow the concrete in as plenty of access.
