How long to leave in between doing E.D.T. lessons?

Ok guys, so I completed my Lesson 4 of E.D.T. lessons today.

How long do y'all recommend to leave in between scheduling and doing each E.D.T. lesson?

    Thanks :)

I think it depends on the driver really, and whether or not you have any means of practise in between lessons. I reckon one a week makes sense, but I can see people wanting to do them quicker than that.

The RSA recommendation is to do a lesson every two weeks throughout your six month waiting period, practicing with your sponsor between each lesson. If you are still in your waiting period, there's not much sense in rushing through your lessons anyway, since you can't sit a test, so that would probably be a decent pace. It really depends on your own skills, though; if you feel ready for the next lesson, there's no reason you can't move along to it, provided your instructor agrees you are ready.

I did mine once per week (i didn't do any practice outside of the EDT lessons either), then a load of practice tests before applying for the main one. The issue is, if you rush through 2 or 3 a week, you may land up with months left before you can take the test.

Also, most instructors charge you a fee to use their car for the test, so imo it's better to take the test once you're confident you can pass, rather than keep applying (exam booking fee + instructor car fee) which can get expensive real fast.

I got my learner permit about a year ago after I sat the theory test so I'm outside the 6-month waiting period. Only started my EDT lessons in April, originally I was planning to do one lesson each week, but the driving school recommended I do one every 2 weeks instead so I took their advice. Just a couple of lessons left now so I expect to be finished in September. I probably get about 5-6 hours driving practice in between each lesson on average.
