Using salvage yard provided by insurer, or sell privately?

    hi folks
so i've an uneconomical write off on my hands. the insurance company has paid out and they've given me the salvage contact who'll pay €250 as standard for the vehicle.
my question is, would it be worth trying to sell this car on instead of salvage? The car was valued at €3k, repair work valued at €5k.
In saying that, it drives as before and the damage doesn't *look* too bad at all.
Would such a motor potentially fetch much more than 250 quid, or is that money a fair enough price?
    Thanks

The car is certainly ‘worth’ more than the trade bid, it’s down to if you want the hassle of selling it and storing it yourself.

The 5k repair quote is based on using all brand new genuine parts plus labour. It's possible the car could be repaired perfectly using secondhand parts for a fraction of that figure. What car is it?
