Small automatic - budget approx €8000-€9000

Hi, looking for a small reliable auto for my wife. Could go to the above budget but would go for something cheaper if it was good. Have read all about crap auto boxes, imports etc so I'm kind of lost. Anyone like to enlighten me?

Also, there are lots of Honda jazz/fit and Nissan micras available, what are they like?

Honda Jazz is a nice small car, versatile, reliable (make sure gearbox oil has been changed), i10 linked is actually very decent small car as well. Suzuki Swift auto is also something to consider. I'd avoid Micras personally, they're quite overrated, I'd also avoid non import Toyota Yaris as they come with an automated manual which are not the best autoboxes around to live with, jap imports come with cvt if I'm not mistaken.

Take a few for a spin and see which one she prefers would be my advise but if you stick to japanese car makes, you shouldn't go too far wrong tbh.

i was looking for a small car for my mother and test drove loads. A honda Jazz CVT was one of the worst cars i ever sat into, suprisingly i thought the newer micra auto were fantastic. but i was looking around 12K budget
