Hi I moved into my new house 6 months ago. I have few hairline cracks on outside render nothing on the same spot inside. Is it something to worry about. I asked the builder. They say it is nothing to worry as it is common in new buildings. Is it something to worry about

That's thanks to our recent 30degree heat. Solids expand when heated and contract when cooled. I was in Spain recently and very little plastered over there for this reason id imagine. Buildings nearly all brick.

It may be common, but it shouldn't be. Cracks in render can happen for a variety of reasons. But in a new house they are not acceptable. Is the render hollow when you tap it? How large are these cracks? Usually not structural (get an engineer to look at them). Is the builder who said they are nothing to worry about, the guy who built the house?

It doesn't appear hallow. There is one going down below the window.one another appeared above the meter box. One in the middle.it short cracks.

Are the inside walls dry lined? If so you may not see cracks in the blockwork. What about the builder who gave the advice?

I checked the same spot inside there is no cracks on the plaster wall. Moreover when you see the crack outside you need see closely to see the crack except the one below the window. All the cracks are around 1mm in width. The builders says it is nothing to worry.it is shrinkage.

The builder may be correct. However, if he is the one who plastered the wall then I would get a second opinion. It can be very difficult to fix a crack successfully. But before you just accept it make sure there will be no issues with water getting in, because that can be very messy if it happens down the road.
