VW Jetta oil pressure gauge fault

    Hi.
    I drive a 2010 VW Jetta 1.6 tdi
despite a full diagnostics done, the red oil pressure gauge keeps beeping at completley random times. might go off 15 times in half hour, or I could drive an hour and no beep.
everything seems fine in the diagnostics, so I have been told that it could well be the clocks being at fault and a new set would cost around €500, as second hand is no good because of coding.
Anybody ever have this problem, and if so, what was the outcome?
The beeping is driving us bonkers, pardon the pun.
    Any help, please?:(

Can you describe the diagnostics done? Was a mechanical oil pressure gauge used? What did read when the engine was on idle? Had the oil pump been visually inspected??

^what he said, also if not already changed the sensor itself could be at fault, and is a lot cheaper than 500 euro

You need to get the oil pressure measured via an external gauge to ensure its not the engine first.
