I'm planning to sail to one of the Aran islands with a few friends. We'd like to pitch tents up and stay for the night. I think Inishmaan is the best bet because its less populated. Is it possible to camp somewhere secluded there? Appreciate any knowledge or advice for the other 2 islands (or maybe others too?)

Inis Meáin: You could camp up from the quay - there are grassy areas there that look like commonage. Hopefully there is a water-tap on the quay, but I don't recall seeing one.

Inis Mór had a camping site and I'd say it's still there.

Inis Oírr: you can camp on the football pitch.

Inis Meáin is the most traditional of the three - the other too have way too many tourists in summer.

    Go n-éirí leat.
