My tv picture goes from full screen to thin letterbox screen which locates itself across middle of screen. I have a setbox from virgin media. Then it comes back on after a half an hour.

I looked online and it suggested giving the tv a bang on its side. I picked the left hand side. It worked but when I went to view my recordings it said that the hard disk,drive had failed and to call 1908. Too late in the evening now.
