Longines info?

I have spotted a Longines la grande classique second hand that I am interested in buying, but I have a few questions first hopefully people on here can help me out:
1: Does this watch and model hold its value well? It isn't a automatic.
2: What should I expect to pay for the watch, considering it is pristine? It is the stainless steel like the one on the link below.
3: What is the cost of maintenance on these or is there much maintenance?

I don't tend to splash money on watches too easily but when I do I tend to keep them for a long period of time (first proper watch I purchased was 17 years ago and I still have it today) and would like to have something that wouldn't depreciate too much. I don't intend on using it as an everyday watch just a dress watch.
    Any help appreciated.

If you are going to keep it for a very long time or forever, what difference does it make if it depreciates or not? :)

Wibbs is our Longines guru, send him a PM and unless it's really cheap :D a link to the actual watch and he'll tell you what's what.

All I can say is it's quartz and I'd be slow to spend more than 500 on a quartz or any used watch TBH.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

It's €700 new, so second hand even in great condition it can't be worth much more than €350

So very little to lose here I would have thought. If you like the watch, buy it!
