Changing Fiat Panda radio

    Hi there,

I recently picked up a Fiat Panda to get me around and it's going great. I got a cheap Bluetooth FM transmitter for the time being, but the static off it seems to be getting worse. In my last car there was a radio fitted in it with an AUX in which I got a Bluetooth adaptor for and was a lot better.

I checked in Halfords and the cheapest radio with fitting will be €120. Now that's not too bad, but I'm broke at the moment. I was considering buying a cheap one off Amazon (like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kidcia-Single-Din-Bluetooth-Receivers-Receiver/dp/B06XRDWB1W/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1533994263&sr=8-3&keywords=car+radio) and fitting it myself. Does anyone have any experience fitting radios, and if so is it tricky or fairly straightforward? I've attached an image of my current radio setup if that's any help. I might just save up some money and get it done properly, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

    Thanks for your help!

Don't buy a cheap radio, they are worse than what you have now. Buy a known brand. Something like a pioneer or a sony can be got for reasonable money and will be light years ahead of the cheap muck.

As regards fitting it's pretty straight foward. You will need to either make or buy removal tools to remove the original radio. They insert into the holes on either side of the head unit. You will need to buy an harness adapter and maybe an aerial adapter.

Once the original radio is out you will need to replace the cage and install the mic up by the rear view mirror and feed the wire down to the back of the head unit.

Thanks for your response! I only want Bluetooth to connect my phone so I can play music. Android Auto works great so I just use that for phone calls too so won't need a proper handsfree setup. I think Halfords have a JVC one for €65. If the harness adapter wasn't that much money I might try doing it myself.
