Where to buy all new applicances? Up North?

So my situation is I've bought a new build and I have to supply the applicances myself so I need to buy fridge/hob/oven etc. I'm not looking to just buy whatever is cheapest but can't spend an absolute fortune either so where is best to buy? Should I go up north and buy the lot there? Brand recommendations would be welcome…
