Ive a 2005 mk2 focus and was driving along and the radio stations started to break up then went completly now no station will play its not the speakers because the cd's play fine. When i scan for stations it just keeps scaning. Ive tried cleaning the ariel base off corrosion and checked the join behind the pillar also tried a different ford radio and no luck. Anybody any info or advice be much appreciated thanks in advance 🙄

Have you taken it out and checked the antennae connection at the back?. You’ll need your key code if you disconnect it from the battery.

    That's an amplified aerial.

3 things could be wrong. The external aerial has become corroded, the aerial base with the built in amplifier is dead, or the connector has come out of the back of the radio.

Tried all the methods mentioned and still not getting stations. I bought the radio adapters and have a aftermarket radio in and that gets stations no problem. Would just like the standard radio in as it looks neater

Just find a similar scrapped car in a breakers yard with an intact original stereo. Don't pay too much for one though as they are not worth very much these days.

If the model of your radio is 6000 ….written on front face ...then the tuner module is faulty and needs to be replaced.
