Free to air channels setup question

My TV has DVB-S/S2 built-in, so I can watch free to air channels on sky sat without an issue. I connected 1 satellite cable between the socket on the wall (it says sat and return on it) and the built-in sat receiver of tv.

The problem I am having is, for example BBC channels show 'press green button to watch this program from the beginning' and after all the steps it ends with 'something went wrong'.

Is that error related with me using only 1 satellite cable instead of 2? (I thought that second satellite cable might be needed for some recording, rewinding etc.)

There is no problem with the free channels but just wondering what might be the cause of this error message and depending on that I will buy a second satellite cable.

My tv region is set to Ireland, just in case it matters.

If you live in Ireland and are connecting via an Irish IP address you will not be able to access these services, restricted to UK viewers.

You are trying to access catchup tv via streaming from the internet. The bbc iplayer that does the streaming is geoblocked in the Rep of Ireland, meaning you can't get it. However you can receive the satellite channels without an issue.
