NEW SKY SPORTS IRISH VARIANT STARTING?

Keep an eye out on the following

    12.324 V SR 29500 FEC 8/9 DVB-S2 QPSK

    Service label: 3932

This could end up as a new HD variant of an existing Sky Sports channel not currently in HD for Irish viewers.

Currently the following are in HD:

    Sky Sports Main Event
    Sky Sports Premier League
    Sky Sports News

    but SD only in Ireland:

    Skly Sports Football
    Sky Sports Golf
    Sky Sports Arena

All versions are in HD for UK viewers.  You get the UK version in HD if the Irish one is not available.  Sky Sports Cricket, Sky Sports Action and Sky Sports Mix have no Irish variant at all.

Keep an eye on this.  If I spot anything first, I will let you know.

Alternatively it may end up being a transponder change for one of the existing ones but we will soon find out.

What you’re saying isn’t quite accurate.

All the Sky Sports channels are HD for Irish viewers - there is none that is SD only. What may be the case is that some of the HD services are the U.K. advertising versions rather than Irish versions, but Irish Sky HD subscribers still receive all Sky Sports programming in HD that the U.K. gets.

Aside from adverts the programmes are exactly the same other than the Saturday 3pm Premier League games broadcast in Ireland only.

I was not suggesting you did not get them but the adverts will be wrong in Ireland for the ones I pointed out were SD only.

Still no idea as to what this new channel is so will keep you posted if I spot it and can identify it.
