    It is fairly simple...

I think on the thread I started when I was thinking someone described it as a iPhone. Just plug it in every night.....I still follow that advice.

Apart from that they are just a car. Like every diesel/petrol etc out there.

To give you idea, my mother stayed with us for a few days, I could see she was watching what I was doing. After the first few days she knew electric was the job so I gave her a test drive. Since then we got her one for her birthday and she is flying around...

She is 70 :-) and never had driven an automatic before. She doesnt use the public charging as she doesn't go that far but loves it.

Mind you I dont use the public system. I had the car for a few months before I went to a publci charger to test how to use it. So far in 18+ months I have used it 5 times.

The most bit I found was working out my distances to see what range I would need. When I bought the likes of Kona/Niro was not coming out. I think you will be surprised if you record a few days driving how little kms you actually do everyday. It's a bit of a wake up call and then you start to wonder "where is all the diesel/petrol going?"

Apart from that. Ask for advice. Loads of people able to help.

Dont mind about charging time/speed of charging/all that BS.....get a home charger and plan to do 90+% of charging at home. Anything else will become painful with the current system. Light is coming at end of tunnel with the likes of Lidl installing charge points. It is also worth checking with you work what their strategy is on work charging

I think a thread with some explanation of the terms would be a great idea.
I've just purchased an outlander PHEV and following threads on here is great but I still had to google most of the Acronyms to see what they actually mean
BEV, HEV, PHEV(I knew this one), CCA charger etc.
The charging types/cables/connectors are confusing also for a newbie.

I propose derekbro creates the new thread in question.

Lol, checked out the above list, reasonably helpful, except where they use acronyms to explain the acronyms, and don't say what the answer-acronym means!
