Honda integra DC 5

    Hi all.

I would just like some advice on my car.
It is a Honda integra dc5 not type r year 2001. It has about 97000 km on it and is in very good condition.
Unfortunately I fell ill a number of years ago and have not driven the car. So it has no nct or tax. It passed the nct first time last time. Not that that matters I guess

I want to sell the car. I was looking at the prices of dc5 cars on donedeal and they range from 5000 to more, with more mileage.

Why is this? Would I get 4000 for it? In this day and age with insurance. It is 2 litre and I’m wondering is there a niche for the car type as they are still so pricey even dating to 2001. It’s way out of ‘boy racer’ territory.

I guess it’s quite rare. I never see them much.

Any thoughts or is donedeal way off?

    Thanks for any help.

Try and get it tested, it’ll make it so much easier to sell.

    Hi Colm

Can I get it tested without tax? Also I’m confused who my target audience is!

    Thanks

Yes, get someone to transfer their insurance to the car, you can drive to the NCT without tax.

Does anyone know if the donedeal prices are a good guide? Or why the car would be worth that much?

I’m sure you paid multiples of that for it?

I'd say even in it's current condition you'd see to pretty easy. 7-8k should be possible if it's in good condition and you NCT'd it.

Thanks for the reply. Is it because it is rare you’d get that price? I bought it about 5 year ago and didn’t pay 5 figures for it.

Is it a type r? Thats really what will define its value

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 Tegra75

No. I should have specified that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,893 ✭✭✭rex-x

That will really hurt its value, the type r's will get 5-6-7k but a non r i'm not sure, maybe 2k?

That's true, the performance variants havn't really depreciated at all, if amything, the opposite.

Non performance models aren't really worth much at all.

Its ironically far rarer over here than a type r version :pac:

Unfortunately tho not in the insurance companies eyes. It may aswel be a type r because they class them the same.

Seems a shame it is such a nice car to almost be looking at scrap value? It’s a perfect drive and great looking. No one wants the insurance and tax burden i guess.

Can you share some pics of the car, would love to see the condition.

I’ll get some pics up tomorrow. Do I need to upload them somewhere first?

You can upload pics from a pc or using the desktop site. Not sure if there's other options.

If it's clean. Could be used for a donor car for a crashed Type R. Find one cheap, do the work yourself and you'd get more for what you have.

Not much else outside of it.

Lancer Evolution prices are going so high. I sold a Evo few years back for 1000, they are reaching 5/6k now without NCT. 7/8 looking a range of values from 10/20k.

The hassle with insurance, high tax, the worry if it will be stolen. Just is not worth it. Real shame I loved the Evo 4.

Never since driven a car they handled as well.

    It’s a VTEC. are all dc5 VTEC?
I had dc2s before that were dial carb. The VTEC was reserved for the type r as far as I know
