Avensis not starting

    Hi, I have a 2006 1.6 avensis, Turning over but not starting. Have fuel etc. Was told its timing belt but thought it wouldn't turn over if the belt went?

    They have a timing chain not a belt.

    Are there lights coming on the dashboard? Does the radio work when the ignition is set to on?

    If it's a petrol it might be flooded. Had one ,and never failed to start. Bar you went to start it and turned back the key before it started. Then it might give trouble to start.
