Generally "beach materiel" cannot be removed, but 3 buckets doesn't sound like much.
    Ring and ask.

It's not allowed. Not sure if it's covered by the Foreshore act or different legislation but it is an offence.

That material slows further erosion. 3 buckets is a significant amount. The more environmental approach is to buy what you need from a garden center.

Don't know about here, but in NCD ppl who wanted to clean the beach/clear seaweed had to get permission from CDCC and residents.

Yes, seaweed seems to be encompassed as well in the Irish Statue book.
Pretty much - if it is stuffs normally found on the beach you can't take it away, sand, rocks, seaweed, etc.

If it's a moving statue maybe he could just lure it off the beach?

    And that's just one person.

Taking stuff that doesn't belong to you, from anywhere, is stealing.

    Ask for forgiveness, not permission.

I thought the rolling stones were coming to Galway. How disappointing.
    (Imagine the traffic though!)

    Ask for forgiveness, not permission.

Pretty sure that GCC would slap a fine for a few mil if you did that!

All I ever see on a beach is dog sh1t. This explains why it's never removed

I ran past a couple taking large stones from Ballyloughane strand a few months ago, presumably for their garden.

Also, usually around May each year groups of local primary school children visit the same beach with their teachers, and blatantly steal sand and seashells.. possibly seaweed too.

Forced labour camps are the only answer here.
