    Requirements as follows, I'm worn out looking and in a bit of a panic as it looks as tho we will have to be buying a house very soon or moving again due to landlord selling up. All coming at once as usual!


    Current situation is 80 km a day commute,, could do the same at least one day each weekend. We will probably stay in this area regardless so this is unlikely to change.
    No kids, just myself and the missus, but two medium sized dogs who we like to take with us at weekends and holidays etc. So preference is for an estate or jeep. Her 03 Megane is on its last legs so plan is she'll take my 04 a3 which is running fine and I'll pick something up, budget around 4-5k max. Hoping to get something for 2-3 years til after we have a more long term living arrangement. Want something thats reasonably reliable and cheap enough to run, tho I dont mind paying the higher tax rates if its for the right car. We live in a rural area and would hope to buy or rent in a similar area if not identical one.

    Should also add that features I'm looking for are climate and cruise control, 6 speed gearbox preferable, would like leather or half leather (easier to clean with dogs!), anything else is a bonus.
    Petrol or diesel I dont mind, I think petrol is nicer personally but thats just me.
    I've been looking at Audi A4/A6 (I like the Audi interior), Passat, and some Subarus (tho their lack of good economy puts me off).
    Any ideas/recommendations more than welcome as I've hit a bit of writers block on it :P
