All inclusive resort suggestions

    Hi all,

My family and I have gone to Union Lido in Italy for the past two years and although we really enjoyed it (the kids LOVED it because of the water slides\pools there) we are going to try something different next Summer.

We've heard some good things about the all inclusive route and I feel this would be a big hit with our kids as they love their food and this would be a real novelty to be able to grab a bite to eat for free (I know, I know...we are still paying for it really :))

Are there any recommendations from the travel boardies here that I could look into? I took a quick look online this morning but nothing jumped out at me. I would like a quality place, clean and with good facilities for young kids.

    Thanks!

Can recommend Dream Gran Castillo in Lanzarote and the Seabank in Mellieha, Malta.

Both have the rooms split into two so you have some privacy, both have numerous dining options (hate just buffet) and very good kids clubs. Both close to the beach and small towns.

we went to Kos 2yrs ago with TUI, stayed at Holiday Village Atlantica Kos

    Nice big place
    Plenty pools
Food was very good all day long, my 2 lads loved being able to just walk up at any time and help themselves
    Extremely safe
    Beach across the road
The room we had had a separate king bed through a door so you get some privacy from the kids who had 2 single proper beds in their common area
    2 TV's in room and a balcony
Loads of activities on site and a kids club
Beach across the road and a 15min walk into the nearby village along the beach front

Highly recommend the place and loads to do on the island

We hired a road buggy 4 seater one day for 90eur and toured the whole island

Check out Los Jameos in Lanzarotte . Lovely hotel and super food and great choice of drinks not just local brews

How do you get a direct flight to Malta?

Ryanair fly up to 4 times a week. They dont list their flights until about 9 months before though.

I'm very reluctant now to book through Ryanair after the strike fiasco this year
You just cant rely on them anymore

I'm going to take a swerve on Malta and look at the Algarve instead

Found a great place in Lagos we're looking into

A great place in Lanzarote if you have small kids say up to age 12 is the Sands Beach Resort, Coste Tequise, Lanzarote.
There is a man made beach with real sand (as sand on Lanzarote is not the best being a volcanic island). The Beach Front apartments, have one separate bedroom (in the sitting room, a dropdown bed in the wall AND a sofabed). These are literally two steps away from the beach and have views out to the sea which is only another short walk away. There is a shallow lagoon, so the kids can wander down and go out on their inflatables or whatever, and only a couple of steps to the apartment to change the clothes, get a drink etc. There are also free small kayaks you can borrow to paddle about on.
People leave the beach toys and inflatables there for the next people.
There is a good all inclusive, but also plenty of pizza and pasta and other restaurants a short walk away. The apartments have full kitchens and there is a supermarket on site, and another one a short walk way. You can walk to the town area via the beach as well. It is windy in exposed areas there but this is mostly a big plus because it keeps it from getting too hot.
There are also 2 bed apartments available. If you prefer, there are other pools with the apartments grouped around its own pool, but these are noiser and busier but if you were travelling with a family group you might like these.
They also have a full size pool for serious lane swimmers, plus a heated pool and bar area and a gym with classes.

What about Turkey? There are so many good resorts with competitive prices. This summer we booked an appartment near Cleopatra Beach. It is located at the foothills of Alanya Castle. Very nice place. Here is a live webcam https://worldcams.tv/beaches/kleopatra-beach from the sunbathing area outside the Palmiey Beach bar which gives a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea.
