Installing roof cladding over existing poratcabin roof

    Hi All,

A few suggestions if anyone can help

I have an old poratcabin with a very shallow pitch aluminium sheeting roof that's not the best . The structures fine except the roof has a few leaks around the edges .

I want to put a corrugated cladding roof over the existing roof .

I was thinking to use 2x2 as battons attached to the existing roof and attaching the cladding to the battons.

As air will be able to circulate between the existing roof and the underside of the cladding will I need to put any membrane under the cladding to deal with condensation?

What's the best way to secure the 2x2's to the existing aluminium roof , screw straight through in to existing poratcabin rafters/joists?

    Any input appreciated ?
