Home needed for stray kitten (Galway)

    Hi everyone,

Long time lurker first time poster here!

A stray kitten ended up in our garden the other night (he could have been left there by someone though).

Managed to catch him and brought him to the vet. He has a bit of cat flu and an eye ulcer, which I am giving him medicine for.

I’m desperately looking for a home for him. To be honest I’m getting a lot of grief at home because they don’t want another cat. There’s a lot of pressure on me to find him a home.

You’d swear it was the end of the world but the pressure at home is causing me such stress that I can barely eat and have had one panic attack already. I’ve reached out to friends, family and charities but no one can do much. Although the rescues will post about getting him a forever home on social media.

Does anyone know of someone who fosters kittens that would be able to help? Or even have any advice for me. I’m in Galway and really in need of some help.

    Thank you!

What about the cat rescue people in <snip> (Dublin) - thou they are volunterrs and always inundated. Surely there are rescue places in Galway online?

Hi JustAThought, I’ve already contacted the local charities and all they can do is post about him on their social media. I’ve contacted some other rescues around the country too and waiting for them to respond.

Ah - well - please God you will get a reply and have some success from there. Its really difficult as the charities are mostly small groups of volunteers and people like yourself who love and care for animals and have no resources or funding and can't bear to see them suffer. At least this poor little kitten has a better chance of health and life because of your compassion and care. I guess you've also asked the <snip> head office who do cats as well as big animals - I guess it must be impossibly difficilult - everyone thinks someone else should do it or that volunteers have endless resources . Good luck with the little kitty spirit.

I’ve been talking with the <snip> too. And local catteries, vets and anyone I can think of.

It’s just hard when you’re trying to do the right thing but you’re getting grief about it at home.

Guys, can I just remind you all that individual rescues can not be named or referred to on-thread.

    Thanks.

You've really got nothing better to do with your time?

    Thanks.
