Be careful ordering power banks. I can't get large capacity ones delivered anymore as they need to go by land now!

Would this work as a raspberry pi UPS? i.e. can it charge from mains while powering a device?

I think that is why they only give the one delivery option to Europe for this product.

Not sure. I can't see why not but somebody else mayknow for sure.

The product description there says some random stuff in one of the pictures.

Says the weight, then "93%", followed by "13000mAh".

That'd put me off. I was about the pull the trigger.

Also, if u want to power a raspberry pi 3, I think they recommend 2.5A output. This is 2.4A max. You might get away with it if u don't have any usb peripherals. It'd defo power a Pi Zero or possibly a pi2, just not 100% sure about a Pi3. Like I said, you'd prob get away with it if u didn't plug anything into the USB ports.

Most power bank power off load when in charging mode so you can not use it as ups but it can power raspberry pi.

Gearbest sell fakes that have 1/3 the capacity of the originals. No faith that Bangcrap won't do the same.

I ordered a couple of Xiaomi Powerbanks from Banggood recently and they came entirely unboxed...no packaging, just the powerbank and cable thrown into a plain shipping box. I had ordered same ones previously so I know for a fact they are supposed to come in a retail box.

They turned out to be genuine (via capacity meter) but it would make me wonder why they wanted to keep the original packaging. It wasn't to save shipping cost because the way they sent it would have been more expensive.

Xiaomi packaging comes with an authenticity sticker (unique code) on the box and in the past from other vendors I have received fake Powerbanks with seemingly legit codes. It makes me wonder if there's a lot of fishy stuff going on in the Chinese market, vendors separating powerbanks from packaging and then selling the packaging to counterfeiting operations etc. With enough codes you might be able to derive the authenticity algorithm or something of that nature.

Anyway buy it if you want but make sure you have some means of verifying it's authenticity.

Even though the 10k version of these we got a while back was genuine, I found it very disappointing on a recent bit of travelling. Dropping from 4 bars indicating full to 1 bar after charging my 3000 mAh phone once. My 20k Anker on the other hand seems nearly impossible to drain in a day even though it's a lot older.

Why are powerbanks so slow to move to USB Type C?

Why are powerbanks so slow to move to USB Type C?

Probably because only new devices are using it. It will come in, but I really hope that this is the last form factor change for a while. It was nice having the same plug for 15 years or more on USB1/2/3, and the micro-usb plug standardised phone connections (Crapple aside)

It looks like this device does support pass-through and I would say 2.4A would be sufficient for the pi3+ on its own.

I have one of these from GearBest. It is brilliant really, and just keeps on lasting. I'd highly recommend it. And the bluetooth speaker is unreal too!

Looks like the coupon had now expired as it says it has been used 500 times?
