    Hi all,
Not 2 long in our self build, mains water and today wen filling a glass the water was very cloudy den went clear after about 30 seconds. I'm guessing this is lime and if so can anyone recommend a good system to install? If it helps the mains water goes from the road into the garage where its teed off to kitchen and utility sinks plus it feeds cold water tank in the garage which in turn pressurises the showers baths and bathroom sinks so I think it could go into the garage.
    Thanks in advance.

Go for a system that uses generic salt, not one that required you to buy specialised stuff from a certain company. Most are standard tanks with a control unit on top connected to a big salt tank.

You're guessing its lime? Cloudiness that disappears after a bit is often a fissyness caused by trapped air. Something we get quite often but its nothing to do with lime.

Get your water tested or just do a simple pH test before spending any money.

If its lime you'd see it in the kettle after 2 days

Air in the pipe, nothing to worry about.

Thanks for your advice, I'll get the water tested and relay back my findings in case it helps others.
