What is it ? it's a program to tether your laptop/PC/tablet/phone to your dSLR
Why ? to remotely control your camera.
I have tried Nikon's android WMU app on the phone but it's features are limited to say the least, so after a bit of searching, I found dslrdashboard.
Anyone else seen this or use it ?

Get the program @ dslrdashboard, free for win/linux OS's, €9.79 for android version

My set-up > laptop (with wireless built in, win10, running qdslrdashboard x64 bit version)

I've just started using/messing with it and it's pretty cool. One bit of advice is to use RAW+JPEG and then if you have 'preview image after capture' set, a small jpeg is downloaded to the laptop, rather than a full RAW file (<slooow). If you find menus not fully visible on the monitor, just click mouse & hold/drag.

Canons own tethered shooting application isn't bad tbh.

It annoys me that it’s bad at reconnecting to the same camera again though, have to go through the whole setup almost every time.

If wireless, I think you can set up a static IP address rather than the DHCP
