Just spotted this instore today. Seems like a good deal though my knowledge of TV specs etc is very limited.
The model number is AKTV3223 T Smart.
Has anybody bought one of these, any feedback??
Low price I assume is because it is not a well known brand. Have never had a smart TV, would this be a decent starting point?? All advice welcome.

    How long until

    (a) They are crap
    (b) Pay more to =-=-=-.fr and get a different spec one.
    (c) Bought one from Lidl before, lasted 8 years and packed up.....

    In fairness, a 32" tv for € 209 .....

    Jay

Curry's are selling a similar spec JVC TV for about twenty euro cheaper. I love Aldi and Lidl for groceries but honestly most of their tech is overpriced.

Personally I'd pick up a cheaper non-smart TV and add a Chromecast. I don't think this TV would accept streams via LocalCast/AllCast so it's only useful for Netflix and YouTube

Per the description in the Lidl app it says:

"SMART Android with WI-FI and LAN connection"

If it has android it could be a steal really, you can put any app you want onto a telly with Android TV built in, no need for a Chromecast...

32" in particular are bargain basement and generally good value.

most households are going for the 40 plus size so the smaller ones are good value.

make sure its smart tv and u cant go wrong

Resolution is 1360 x 768 and sold mainly to date in the Italian market: the few Amazon IT reviews - as translated by chrome at least - indicate low and poor sound.

I would say this is not so much a bargain and more just getting what you pay for.

    Curry's have a 32" 1080p Toshiba for €199 for example.

    Or a 32" JVC 720P for €189.

Tesco have 32" Philips for €200.

Bought this tv on Monday . Got a refund for it Tuesday!. Rubbish. Slow to respond to remote control, It couldnt even run youtube. On the box "Akai Tokyo Japan", on the tv label at the back "Made in China". So not even a Vestel (Ive repaired tvs for 20 years). Just a cheapo chinese chassis. Be warned ; stay away.

Hi, did you take it back to the lidl store you bought it from?
A friend of mine told me that they told him he had to contact the manufacturer when he had an issue with a car radio he got there a few years back.

Hopefully he didn't bring it back to Aldi, as it was bought in Lidl... :D

Mind you, I've done that in the past with a failed drill... Embarassing!!!

When I bought the tv, they gave me a Lidl customer service number to ring if I had any problems. So I rang it and told them how unhappy I was with this rubbish tv. I got a ref number, brought tv back to Lidl wher I bought it and I got a full refund.

Grand I might do the same thing. I got mine a couple of days ago and never really got a chance to try the smart functionality on it, but after reading your post I thought ide give it a try.
Netflix was pretty bad, then I tried a few things on youtube and it was awful.

Im going to do the same as you, and try there customer service first.

I will completely second what your post said and warn anyone off this tv, it is also very slow and doesn't even have a tv guide for saorview.

The customer service number I got when I bought the tv was on a leaflet they gave me at the checkout stating that the Akai 32" smart tv was not included in their 28 day returns. And I was told when buying it that I could not get a refund on it like the other products that have the 28 day money back. But when I saw how bad the tv was I thought f that and I rang them and they sorted out a full refund.

Ok. That's good to know. I've assumed everything in the electronics and tools depts attracted that 28 day thing. I must remember to check next time I buy anything electronic.

Well I rang customer service and they also gave me a reference number to go in and get a refund. Went into store and got the refund fine without any hassel.

Thanks John c for the heads up....
