You'll be fine until you hit the city centre, then it won't really matter much as it's always jammers...

Travel as early as you can. The Saturday isn’t one of the busiest race days, but the city is generally very busy at the moment and there is a big GAA match on Saturday in Salthill too. I’d aim to be in Salthill by noon to avoid the worst of the queues (ie leave limerick city by 10.30am at latest.)

Is the Galwayrace's car traffic overplayed at this stage? best managed traffic event in Galway City. Loads of racegoers go via Bus to and from the Racecourse. Now the GAA and Pearse Stadium.......

Ya ive had to use the bus twice this week, and on both occasions as well as my one cycle the traffic has been far less than a regular weekday evening.

Best week of the year traffic wise, Well managed, if only it were like that all year. Reasons seem to be loads of people using buses, taxis, and holidays. Probably similar numbers of people in town given inflow and outflow tourist/local.
Is this the way forward. Loaded up public transport to and from central locatiions.?

Races or any travel from that side to town/Salthill btw should be a breeze given traffic management

Chasing the checkpoint stats for the end-of-month I'd say, seems to always be a flurry of checkpoints in the last few days of the month.

Unusual to have so many in the same area.
