Problem with Cheque

    Hi all,

I recently received a payment from Germany by cheque. The cheque was issued through HypoVereinsbank (member of UniCredit).

When I tried to lodge this into my Permanent TSB account I was unable to do so. I was told that Permanent TSB no longer accept such cheques.

I was instructed to open a Credit Union account in order to lodge the cheque there.

Are there any other options I can avail of?

    Thanks in advance.

Bank of Ireland accept international Euro cheques. You need a current account with BoI. The cheque will take up to 8 weeks to clear.

Be careful with international Euro cheques, there is a high level of fraud.

If you can, insist on electronic transfer.
