Hotel breaks are your only outlet then if you want quality time together

down the road you could look at renting a place together and saving

You could always look at airbnb and get an apartment close to you two for the weekend.

If one of you drives there are plenty of good hotel break deals to be found online

Alternatively you could treat the parents to a night away somewhere.
Nice for them, and you get the house to yourselves.

I'm in the same situation myself sure

lastminute, genius discount on bookingdotcom, escapes.ie and groupon are very handy. Also if you book in advance City Breaks can be quite reasonably priced with cheap flights these days to some places

How about one of those adult cinemas in town? Pay 12e and can have sex. If feel uncomfortable with people watching just put on earphones and shades

short term pain, long term gain!

alot of people, especially in Dublin are in the same boat and it will just get worse and worse over the next few year.

as pointed out, hotels or weekends away are your friends!

I remember going through this stage in my life. Luckily, it was around 2006 and there were hotel rooms for €50 a night. Aside from this my sister had a house and would let us stay over. Also his family had a holiday-home in Waterford so we suddenly became quite fond of the beaches there

One word ............... camping. Weekends away camping - healthy, get you outdoors, lots of activities to do, and peace for you both.

Doesn't have to be a night away and all that expense, just a meal, a gig, some stupid old person event old people like going to.

My friend runs and airbnb and most her customers seem to be local young couples!

Camping is also a great idea

Are ye both saving for a mortgage each? Can ye afford to rent somewhere together, like a double room in a houseshare?

    thanks for your reply,

Its relatively early days in the relationship we havent really spoken about renting together, but we are both prior to meeting have saving for mortgages as individuals

Careful you don't end up in the local dogging spot.
