Do you like shopping?(Excluding online)

Growing up I thought I liked shopping. I always liked doing the weekly shop and enjoyed going to cities/centers(Didn't do it often tough)
When I went to college I thought it would be great being near loads of shops/etc but I realised after about a week I had no interest in shopping.
I know people and they can spend hours browsing and buying nothing. I couldn't imagine doing this. I have no issue going clothes shopping when I need something but I don't make a day of it or spend hours dawdling.
I still quite like doing the weekly shop but I'm in and out. No cups of tea/coffee between shops.
Apart from that I do like Christmas stuff so I don't mind having a look around shops then. During the rest of the year all that would really interest me would be DIY places!

No. Get in, get exactly what I went for, get out and home.

I don't get how people can just browse around the shops.

Not a chance. I'd almost prefer to watch soccer. Though I'd rather pull my nails out with a pliers before doing that.

I love wandering around cities. If I throw in something I need into the mix it kinda turns into a scavenger hunt.

    I hate shopping malls though.

To me it a little like going into a restaurant and sitting down and just looking at the menu!

As a lady I even get stressed when I have to grab some socks. Hate shopping for pretty much everything beside plant stuff because that's my one big hobby. We do the weekly food shop simply because we both hate shopping so much that we couldn't do it more than once a week.

    Shopping for what, though?

Browsing a good book shop - or even better, a comic book shop? I could easily spend days.

Shopping for fruit and veg and ingredients and spices I've never tried before in a market or small specialist shop? Just try and see if you could pry me away

Shopping for clothes, though? Hate it with a passion. As in, REALLY hate it. I try and avoid it at all costs.

Same. I often spend hours browsing in Chapters but can't wait to get out of Penneys

Absolutely detest shopping and chocolate. Really bugs me when people generalise and assume that because you're female you love both.

Particularly if it's other females assuming!

Though I do like chocolate. But not chocolate cake.

I prefer it to cleaning the house or ironing. So it's not the worst chore but it's not how I want to spend my free time.

Hate clothes and shoe shopping, will buy what I need mainly online. Can tolerate makeup shopping but again mainly just buy it online and do a bit of research on the color match. In most shops like Brown Thomas I never felt I got March very well to foundation anyway.

Have some tolerance to food shopping, just to browse/chose new and fresh produce.

I love food shopping. It's like some sort of challenge trying to manage to tick off every item off my list. And I feel smug AF when I do.

I also love wandering around Waterstones, taking my time, perusing the books. I wouldn't be so much an Easons fan though.

No. My method of shopping is search online for what I need, make a list, locate a store in town that has this or something similar, go directly to that store, buy it and leave to go home.

Even Aldi weekly shop is subject to this. If it is not on the list, it doesn't go in the basket.

Hate shopping with the missus, with an absolute passion. Always end up in the same store we started at. Shops like a fly on a sugar rush. No pattern to her search, really random. And the dreaded question....."Do you think this is nice on me ?". There is no correct answer to that. You are doomed for saying yes because you didn't mean it and doomed for saying no because you are always negative. Can't win.

    Christmas shopping is the worst...

So I asked google how many days have i got to get all my shopping in, this was the reply...

There are 21 more weeks to December 25th, 2018! Well, I tried counting down to Christmas using my fingers and toes, but I don't have 148 of them -- then I'd be REALLY grumpy! (But if YOU want to countdown to Christmas, there are 148 days to go.

Nope - total chore and bore. And I’m a gay man.:pac:

The only shop I like is a bookstore. I could spend hours in one.

The only shop I could spend a good length of time in is a D.I.Y/Homestore!

I'm going to be the freak who says yes.

I just like looking at things and knowing what's out there. I enjoy looking at my leisure, because even if I don't buy something today, when I need a new shirt or a new phone or a new hair product, I'll remember what I saw before and I can go and buy it without having to stress about it. If I need something in a hurry, it leaves me that I don't have to make the decision without giving it proper consideration— I already know what I want, I just needed the impetus to actually buy it.

It doesn't really matter what kind of store— books, electronics, clothes, homewares, electrical items, household tools, cars, pretty much anything. I've spent hours in shops for all of the above quite happily. I love shopping for everything.

...Except food. It bores me, and I always end up buying rubbish I don't need and shouldn't want.

I go to a shopping mall nearby once or twice a week for a few hours. Yesterday I played some VR games and went to the bakery for a pastry and coffee. Didn’t really have a look in any clothes shops. I like going to outlets or shopping villages if I’m buying clothes as they are a lot cheaper.

I never go out insisting on buying stuff but I like investigating and going into shops to learn about new products or even get ideas about design. I don’t spend much money to be honest but I’m finding it harder to stay at home all day if I have a day off. I think I’m better off going out doing anything than staying at home.

I despise shopping for stuff like clothes or shoes.. I quite like grocery shopping if I have some new dish I want to cook.

For grocery shopping and such, no.. Go in, get what I need and out. Almost always in one shop too. No patience for the idea of getting some in Dunnes, some in Aldi etc.

Shopping for other things though like electronics (TVs, computers, phones) I'd have more time for but I'll have done my research online first and know what I'm looking for. Cars would be the same but in all cases only really if I had the money to spend... Random browsing just annoys me! :(:p

I like shopping for clothes but I hate the crowds and I hate the fuss of changing rooms. I really hate food shopping, one of the most thankless chores that you have to do, combined with packing it all bringing it home and putting it all away..... To repeart again a few days later.... Life's too short.

After many years of being housebound and not going near a shop, shopping is a pleasure and a privilege .

Now that the main bulky stuff is getting delivered, even more so as I can focus on extras... reduced counters....treats.... things that are not easy to get .. I know which of the main 4 have what bargains..

Only food and occasionally stuff for here.No interest in clothes , books etc.

Yesterday as I was out, off island, i wandered round a supermarket at leisure... Specials on strawberries and mushrooms!

Now I can order the sugar etc for jam online...

I agree - it will probably come across as snobbish, but Easons to me isn't a book shop. They're paper shop that decided to also sell paper that's been printed on.

Definitely snobby— half my books over the years have come from charity shops, markets, garage sales, etc. :pac:

Great books can be found anywhere!

...Though these days I confess I'm all about Kindle. I hate having to carry things with me, and it just makes life so much easier. It's a real pain that you can't purchase in-app with an iPhone, though. (Now that is a bad shopping experience.)

Depends on the shop. Grocery shopping, make a list, grab what's on it and get out as quickly as possible. Clothes shopping, find something that fits, repeat as above. On the other hand, if I'm in the likes of a second hand book shop, antique shop or Christmas Market then I can happily wander around for hours.
