Off to Oz for 3 months in November and will be bringing my bike (Felt Z4, Ultegra, full carbon) so need a decent box.

Has anyone ever come across this one?

    https://www.probikekit.co.uk/cycling-accessories/pbk-bike-travel-case/11437202.html

The price is way cheaper than anything similar but I can't find any independent reviews on it, anybody got experience of it? any thoughts on why it would be half the price of boxes that look very similar from other brands?

    Thanks in advance

It's a bit of a pain in the arse if a lot of lifting is required as there is no top handle (unlike most other types). Pushing across an airport floor is fine but it's hard work lugging it onto buses/train/cars etc. and generally requires 2 hands. Make sure your ordinary bag is a back pack.

(I don't have one myself but I have travelled with others who do).

That looks like it's very good value, but a couple of things:
    1) weight, it weighs 13kgs, in the description, it says it's lightweight, but 13kgs is quite heavy.
    2) In the description, it says you have to remove the stem, this involves loosening the head set and then when you arrive, you have to reset the headset.
If you're not used to doing this, it can be a pain in the ass, getting it right.

I have the one below. I have it years, never any serious issues with it. Some might find it hard to trust, because it's not completely rigid.
It weighs 8kgs and it's quite easy to pack the bike. Instead of removing the stem, you loosen and rotate the handlebars, much handier.
    And it's €70 cheaper.

Looks grand. I wouldn't have considered it all that cheap.

I've used one of these a few times and two mates as well. They're often around the 280 quid mark.

Thanks for the feedback. Could I ask apart from the no top handle would you say owners were happy with them? Build quality, ease of use etc.. No horror stories ?

    Cheers

From what I can see that style of box, like bike box Alan, Thule, Scicon etc are 500 plus. That's why I was curious about one at 260.

No horror stories. They are very robust and the lads I travel with have done multiple trips with them.
