You can connect a pc or laptop to the TV or get an amazon fire stick.

Have you a Smart TV? There may be a Prime Video app for the Tv.

If not, Chromecast isn’t supported, but you can order the “Fire TV Basic Edition” from Amazon.com. Yeah I know, don’t get me started on Amazon’s inconsistent attitude towards Ireland that sends us to Amazon.co.uk for some things and Amazon.com for others.

Also, Apple TV, though I suspect you’re probably putting that under the category of “Android Box” even though it runs iOS.

And what the poster above said. PC/Mac and HDMI cable.

“Fire TV Basic Edition” works in Ireland.

We can not discuss the VPN aspect here

It should work fine as it is.

Apple TV is something I would consider, I just meant I didn't want to use a dodgy android box, thanks for your help

How is an android box ‘dodgy’ ?

The hardware itself is not dodgey. What certain suppliers may do in terms of providing access to copyright protected content is. And I think we might leave the discussion on that there as it’s not relevant to what the OP wants to do.

    Hi Op

there is nothing dodgy about an android box.

A good specced one is better value than the alternative like firestick and apple tv. I am always surprised at what people pay for a smart tv, when the android box can turn any tv into a smart tv.

Plus smart tvs tend to be hobbled, with restrictive app stores, and limitations, as is fire stick and apple tvs where an android TV box tends to be completely google play store compatible.

As recognised here you have the choice to use apps that are dodgy as you put it, but you have the choice not to. That same choice is removed by some hardware vendors, and IMO it shouldn't be their call.

If you plan to use nowTV or want 4k netflix, make sure you get the right TV box.

I said we’d leave that discussion there. The OP is specifically asking about Prime Video. Can we maybe address that and not the wider point about Android boxes please
