Cafes in Mullingar

For a variety of reasons I go to Mullingar about 5 or 6 times a year. I know Mullingar reasonably well but am interested in new places to try for a coffee, lunch etc.

I was there yesterday and noticed that Miller and Cook was closed. Is this a permanent closure? I was there once before and I thought that it was nice and a good location in the centre of town.

Also, The Mad Hatter cafe seems to be closed, I was never there so cant comment on it.

Belly cafe looked to be closed but on holidays.

Yesterday I ended up eating in Fraynes on Mount street, it is a consistently reliable cafe. My son got a panini in the Galway Roast. This looks to be good addition to the town.

Last time I was in town I had lunch at Red Earth in the industrial estate, it was lovely also.

Two questions, are there too many cafes now in Mullingar? Anywhere people would recommend for a good value lunch with a bit of variety?

One last question, what is the Greville like now for lunch and also dinner in the restaurant?

    Thanks

Try the Galway Roast - few doors down from Credit Union. Lovely staff and food, and reasonable prices, and I think, the best coffee in town.

Red Earth - at the edge of town but excellent. Also get yerself a Singapore Noodle in the middle of the day. You were looking for variety, there's a lad out front on a wok horsing up good stuff.
Belly - Excellent, try the chicken fillet sambo thingy. Also the breakfast has a proper hash brown.
    Millar & Cook - closed
Greville, good at night, during the day yer in carvery territory, not my scene, I don't know.

First they came for the socialists...
