    seen.

    The Last of the Mohicans.

    The Mission.

After hearing the scores I'm off to watch them now.

Any big ones you haven't seen for any reason ?

For no particular reason I've not seen Citizen Kane, Its a Wonderful Life, Casablanca. Plenty more I'm sure.

    Would love some recommedations.

    oh boy!

    Never have i ever seen...

    The god fathers (I know!)

The usual suspects (it was spoiled on me, so no drive to watch it)

Apocalypse now (Which is strange as ive seen A LOT of war movies)

    Casino (I know!)

    Taxi driver..

Theres actually loads of Scorsese's earlier work i haven't delved into, needs to be fixed.

    The deer hunter..

I actually only seen the Titanic in recent years also, put that off for a long time, until the missus found out, then it was literally the next day.. :pac:

All worth seeing. Even the usual suspects, even if you know the plot.

Aye I'm sure it will entertain me, but the with the big twist known, it will take alot away from the overall. Plus theres so many other movies to see that i know little about :P

The thing with TUS is that although the final denoument is great the first time you see it (if you got to see it unspoiled), it still holds up to rewatching it because of how everything unfolds during the film - there are all sorts of little details you pick up on that just feed into the wider story, and the performances are good enough that the tension of the interrogation that frames the whole story is still there even if you know how it plays out.

Hah i know, the trouble is my palette is so broad, my check list is endless. I also go through phases of genre types i watch through, so ill get around to them.. I'll try get back into a groove of watching different directors movies, i found that to be a more manageable way of getting through the greats. I should have just started with Scorsese instead of Mann :P:pac:

Watched all the films mentioned above. They're great, memorable films and never watched any of the films listed in the opening post.

I haven't seen most 'gangstery/Italian mob' type movies, so no Godfather etc. Never been interested in the subject matter so have always had the notion in my head that they'd be boring.

I've seen Scarface though, as I've a fondness for Brian De Palma movies.

I've also managed to miss Apocalypse Now, though it's something I definitely keep meaning to watch.

    Apocalypse Now
    Raging Bull
    Casablanca
    Schindler's List

Some of my favourite movies. Raging Bull has aged, but mostly because it set the tropes for boxing films to come so it seems overly familiar.

Actually, I watched Casablanca for the first time the whole way through recently (having seen bits and pieces over the years). Really it's an incredible movie. Of its time for sure, but it has all of the archetypal characters there and moves at a wonderfully brisk pace.

Vertigo is Hitchcock at the tip top of his game. Had never seen that until recently but am glad that I did. Fantastic cinematography. Hitchcock's follow-up, North by North-West is also brilliant.

In terms of popular movies rather than classics -the three hobbit movies, most of the new star wars movies, most of the harry potter movies.

I've never seen the Godfather series; there's a bit of a blindspot with me when it comes to the 'mafia' genre, just don't have an interest in those sort of stories so Ford Coppola's most famous output has been ignored by me :D
