I am a relatively new driver and have only been driving a Rigid for 1 year.
I just changed jobs but the hours are a bit crazy.
I started a particular Day at 3.15 am and returned to warehouse at 17.30 pm.
I was still within tacho rules and had 20 mins left to drive on the tacho.
So in the 13 and a bit hours i worked i put tacho to other work and took the required 45 min break.
Can anyone tell me if its legal for me to drive a HGV for almost 9 hours and other work for a further 4 hours. Im only paid a day rate not hourly.
    Thank you

If you started work before 4 am then you are limited to a 10 hour working day. This means you start at 4 am finish at 2 pm including breaks. If you start work at 4:01 am then you can work a 15 hour day 9 / 10 hour driving and your breaks and other work. There are exceptions to the 10 hour rule but I doubt you fall into this.

But to answer your question. On that particular day no.
On a regular 15 hour working day yes.
