Advice needed

    Hi,

My wife has got a mental illness, and took off out the door 2 months ago. She went to the UK and she has been in London for the past 6 weeks, very unwell, off her medication and surviving on her disability allowance payment. She's homeless as far as I know.

I have been following her social media activity; it's obvious she is unwell, and suffering from psychosis, mania and paranoia. She has had multiple episodes before so I know when she is not well. I contacted Gardai to see if they could help; one of them spoke to her on the phone on Monday and she said she is okay and just wants to be left alone. I also contacted the Metropolitan police to see if an officer could check on her in person in London, to assess her mental state, but they said I have to report her missing through Gardai and they will take it from there. I feel like I've hit a dead end with the the Gardai because they checked on her, albeit on the phone, and she was well enough in their view. I should say when she first went to the UK she was in hospital in the north of England for around 10 days and was released, but she took off from there to London. I'm worried now because she has gone off the radar on social media; no updates for 48 hours, and that is not like her. Normally she is posting on Twitter multiple times a day.

My mind is racing with all the negative things that could happen to her, especially in London; what should I do? Am I wasting my time contacting police again if she doesn't want to be found yet?

Strange. You posted this before around a year ago, almost word for word
