Anyone care to recommend where, or not, to get a 2014 Leaf serviced in Dublin? What's done and how much would it cost? Currently 81k kilometers.

    Thanks

Nothing is done except check the tires and brake pad wear (usually minimal), and change the pollen filter
My leaf had nearly 100k km at the last service when I had it and brake pad wear was around 50%

The only benefit to getting a service is to stamp the book and maintain warranty. But I think a 2014 is out of warranty anyway?

A 2014 still has it's battery warranty until next year. One addition to the list is the brake fluid, which should be changed every 2 years (although you can get away with less often if you know what to look out for and check it regularly).

My second service (not in Dublin) was €76 from the local Nissan dealer, would have been more had the pollen filter needed replacement

Surely the battery warranty is not affected by the Leaf having a general service done by Nissan every year?

And a 2 year brake fluid replacement interval is OTT in a normal car. In an EV it is just plain silly

Changing the pollen filter yourself is a very easy job in most cars. The cars' first NCT this year because it is 4 years old will tell you if there are any safety issues. I wouldn't bother servicing a 4 year old Leaf apart from the above.

The main reason why brake fluid is supposed to be changed regularly on a time based schedule is that it absorbs moisture from the atmosphere over time which can cause brake pipe corrosion from within, nothing to do with how often or how hard the brakes are used.

Modern brake fluid is silicone based and doesn't absorb water. Changing brake fluid every 5 years is more than plenty on your average family car, but I'm obviously not suggesting you do this if it would interfere with your warranty.

It's a condition of the warranty.
